Workplace Violence and Harassment Policy

Jorqueciel Limited has a zero tolerance to workplace violence and workplace harassment of any sort. As the President/CEO, I am committed to the prevention of workplace violence and workplace harassment by providing an enabling environment in which all employees are treated with respect, fairness, dignity, impartiality, and professionalism irrespective of class, gender, creed, and power. The scope of workplace violence and workplace harassment in Jorqueciel Limited applies to all employees and any other bod(ies) that is/are involved in the activities of the company. For the sake of clarity, I want to state unequivocally what workplace violence and workplace harassment mean to us in Jorqueciel Limited. WORKPLACE VIOLENCE:
  • The exercise of physical force by a person against an employee in a workplace that causes or could cause physical injury to the employee.
  • An attempt to exercise physical force against an employee in a workplace that could cause physical injury to the employee.
  • A statement or behaviour that is reasonable for an employee to interpret as a threat to exercise physical force against the employee in a workplace that could cause physical injury to the employee.
WORKPLACE HARASSMENT: Workplace harassment and workplace bullying are identified as being core psychosocial hazards. Any act of discrimination or assault that systematically disadvantage the employees is considered workplace harassment. It is the belittling or threatening behavior directed at an individual employee or a group of employees. It is a course of vexatious conduct or comment against an employee in a workplace that is known or ought reasonably to be known to be unwelcome. Harassment may comprise any objectionable act, communication or display that is perceived to be insulting, frightening, embarrassing, offensive, humiliating, demeaning, derisive or otherwise unwelcome. Sexual harassment is also part of workplace harassment and it is very common. It is any conduct or comment of sexual nature that is likely to cause offence or humiliation to an employee. It might also be seen as any action displayed mostly by the opposite sex as a prerequisite for gaining an employment or any sort of advantage in a workplace. This is called employment discrimination. OUR COMMITMENT AGAINST THESE HARASSMENTS. We take it upon ourselves to organise seminars quarterly to educate our entire employees on workplace violence and workplace harassment. In the seminar, we try to put them in the know the legal implications of this ugly virus, and the psychotic effects workplace violence and workplace harassment could have on the employee(s) that is/are subjected to them. We also encourage our employees to report any act of workplace violence and workplace harassment if he/she witnessed any of them in progress or if any employee becomes violent to the extent that you consider your safety to be at jeopardy.
